Louis XVIII was the King of France from 1814 to 1824. He was born in 1755 as Louis Stanislas Xavier, Comte de Provence, and was the younger brother of Louis XVI. After years of exile during the French Revolution, he eventually ascended to the throne following the abdication of Napoleon. Known for his cautious approach to governance, he sought to balance absolutism with conciliation.
