Lester Young

Legendary jazz saxophonist

Lester Young was a 34-year-old church handyman who was gunned down in his East Oakland home in 2012. He was a victim of police brutality and racial injustice. Young was a member of the Black Panther Party and was known for his activism. He is survived by his family and community.
