Kasturba Gandhi, born Kasturbai, was the wife of Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of India's independence movement. Though often seen quietly supporting Gandhi, she was actively involved in the political and spiritual struggles for India's independence. Born in Gujarat, she was married to Gandhi at a young age and remained a steadfast companion throughout his life.
