Juan Rulfo was a Mexican novelist, short story writer, and journalist. He is best known for his novel 'Pedro Páramo' and his short story 'La cuesta de las comadres'. He was a prominent figure in Mexican literature and was awarded the Rómulo Gallegos Prize in 1956.
