Joe Haldeman is an American science fiction and fantasy author, physicist, and professor. He is best known for his novel "The Forever War". Haldeman has won numerous awards for his work, including the Hugo Award for Best Novel. He is also a professor of physics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Haldeman has written over 20 novels and numerous short stories. He is known for his exploration of complex scientific concepts in his fiction.
