João Goulart

Former President of Brazil and politician

João Goulart, also known as Jango, was a Brazilian politician who served as the President of Brazil from 1961 to 1964. He was overthrown in a military coup led by General Castelo Branco. Before his presidency, he was a key figure in the National Front and later became the leader of the Brazilian Communist Party. After being overthrown, he went into exile in Mexico until his death in 1976.
