Joan Eardley

Joan Eardley was a Scottish artist and painter known for her expressive and emotive works. Born in West Sussex, England, she moved to Scotland in the 1940s and became a prominent figure in the Scottish art scene. Eardley's work often featured Glasgow kids and wild seascapes, and she was influenced by the Impressionists, including Monet, Constable, and Tàpies. She was also known for her use of bold colors and textures. Eardley was a prolific artist and produced over 1,000 paintings during her lifetime. She died in 1963 at the age of 55.
