Son of Sacajawea and explorer
Jean Baptiste Charbonneau was the son of Sacajawea and French-Canadian explorer Pierre Charbonneau. Born in 1805, he grew up to become a well-known figure in the American West. Charbonneau was a skilled hunter and tracker, and he accompanied his mother on many of her expeditions. He also became a prominent figure in the fur trade and was known for his bravery and leadership skills. Charbonneau died in 1866 at the age of 61.
