Jared Bednar is a Canadian ice hockey coach who is currently the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League. He was born on March 18, 1979, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Bednar played junior hockey in the Western Hockey League and later played in the ECHL. He began his coaching career in the ECHL and later moved to the AHL, where he coached the Lake Erie Monsters.
