Isoroku Yamamoto

Isoroku Yamamoto was a Japanese admiral and the commander-in-chief of the Combined Fleet during World War II. He is best known for his role in planning the attack on Pearl Harbor. Yamamoto was a highly respected naval officer and a skilled tactician. He was born in Japan and served in the Imperial Japanese Navy. Yamamoto died in a plane crash in 1943.
