Irène Joliot-Curie was a French physicist and chemist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1935, along with her husband Frédéric Joliot-Curie. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in chemistry. Joliot-Curie was born in Paris, France, and studied physics and chemistry at the Sorbonne.
