Award-winning novelist
Imbolo Mbue is a Cameroonian-American novelist. She was born in 1977 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Mbue moved to the United States in 1998 and earned a master's degree in creative writing from the University of Houston. She is the author of two novels, Behold the Dreamers and How Beautiful We Were, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction in 2019. Mbue's work often explores themes of identity, culture, and social justice.
