Ibn Sina, also known as Avicenna, was a medieval Persian polymath and one of the most influential thinkers of the Islamic Golden Age. He was a physician, philosopher, mathematician, astronomer, and chemist. Ibn Sina was born in 980 CE in Afshana, near Bukhara, in what is now modern-day Uzbekistan.
