Hertha Ayrton was a pioneering British physicist, mathematician, and inventor who made significant contributions to the study of electrical engineering. She was the first woman to win the Royal Society’s Hughes Medal in 1902. Ayrton was also an advocate for women's rights and a member of the Women's Suffrage movement.
