Henry Markowitz is an American economist and mathematician. He is a Nobel laureate in economics, awarded in 1997 for his work on portfolio theory. Markowitz is a professor emeritus at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has written several books on economics and finance and has been a prominent figure in the field of finance for many years. Markowitz is based in the United States.
