Henrietta Leavitt

Henrietta Leavitt was an American astronomer and scientist who made groundbreaking contributions to our understanding of the universe. Born in 1868, Leavitt was a pioneering female scientist who worked at the Harvard College Observatory. She is best known for her discovery of the relationship between the brightness and distance of celestial objects, which led to a major breakthrough in our understanding of the universe. Leavitt's work was largely overlooked during her lifetime, but she is now recognized as a trailblazer in the field of astronomy. She died in 1921 at the age of 53.
