Musician and resistance fighter
Heinz Geiringer was a musician and a member of the Jewish resistance movement during the Holocaust. He was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1921 and was a talented violinist. Geiringer joined the resistance movement in 1942 and worked to smuggle Jews out of the country. He was eventually caught by the Nazis and sent to a concentration camp, where he died in 1945. Geiringer's brother, Eva Schloss, survived the Holocaust by hiding with her family.
