Heather C. McGhee

Heather C. McGhee is a public policy expert and economist. She is a professor at the Hunter College School of Social Work and a senior fellow at the Economic Policy Institute. McGhee has written extensively on issues of economic inequality and has been a vocal advocate for policies that address systemic racism. She is the author of the New York Times bestselling book The Sum of Us. McGhee has also worked as a policy analyst for the National Employment Law Project and has been a fellow at the Roosevelt Institute. She has been featured in various media outlets, including NPR, The New York Times, and CNN.
