Ghassan Kanafani was a Palestinian writer and activist who was born in 1936 in Jerusalem. He was a prominent figure in the Palestinian national movement and was known for his writings on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Kanafani was a key figure in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and was assassinated in 1972.
