Spiritual teacher and philosopher
George Gurdjieff was a spiritual teacher, philosopher, and writer of Armenian descent. He was born in 1866 in Alexandropol, Russia, and later traveled extensively throughout the Middle East and Central Asia. Gurdjieff is best known for his teachings on the importance of self-awareness, personal responsibility, and the need to transcend the limitations of the ego. He founded the Poyarkov Monastery in Russia and wrote several books on spirituality and philosophy, including 'Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson'. Gurdjieff's teachings have had a significant influence on modern spirituality and continue to be studied by many today.
