General Moses Cleaveland

General Moses Cleaveland was a military surveyor who played a key role in the establishment of Cleveland, Ohio. Though he initially preferred a different name for the settlement, it was eventually named in his honor. He is best known for his contributions to early American urban planning and his role in the development of the city.
