Gavyn Jones

Gavyn Jones is a professional baseball player known for his unconventional path to the College World Series (CWS) championship. Drafted in the 18th round of the 2023 MLB Draft by the New York Mets, he turned down the offer to pursue a different path. Jones played for Texas Tech, attended a community college, and later transferred to Oklahoma (OU). His persistence paid off when he became a key player in OU's CWS championship run in 2026, pitching scoreless innings in the series.
