Gary D. Wheeler is an American politician who served as the 35th Governor of California from 1995 to 2003. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he graduated from Yale University and later earned a law degree from Stanford Law School. Before entering politics, Wheeler worked as a lawyer and later became involved in public health issues. He has been known for his advocacy on healthcare reform.
