Franz Joseph Paul Adolf Eduard Karl Maria Shubert was an Austrian engineer, physicist and physician. He is best known for inventing the first telephone. The invention is documented in a patent he received on February 6, 1867. In addition to the telephone, Shubert made significant contributions to various other fields of science.
