Franco Malerba

Franco Malerba is an Italian astronaut, politician, and entrepreneur. He was the first Italian astronaut, flying on the Space Shuttle Atlantis in 1992. After his space career, he worked in politics and diplomacy, and later co-founded the startup Space V. Malerba has also developed innovative systems for growing plants in space. He is currently involved in various initiatives related to space exploration and food production.
