Fernando Cardoso

Fernando Cardoso is a Brazilian politician who served as the President of Brazil from 1995 to 2003. He was a member of the Social Democratic Party and was known for his conservative policies. Cardoso was born in 1944 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He studied economics at the University of São Paulo and later earned a master's degree in economics from Harvard University. Cardoso was a successful businessman before entering politics, and served as the Governor of São Paulo from 1991 to 1995. He was elected President of Brazil in 1994 and served two terms. During his presidency, Cardoso implemented several economic reforms and reduced inflation. He was impeached in 2005 and served a prison sentence for corruption. Cardoso is currently a prominent figure in Brazilian politics and has written several books on economics and politics.
