Former Head of the UN World Food Programme
Ertharin Cousin is a Kenyan-American diplomat and former head of the United Nations World Food Programme. She served as the executive director of the World Food Programme from 2012 to 2017. Cousin has extensive experience in international development, humanitarian aid, and food security. She has worked in various roles, including as the deputy executive director of the World Food Programme and as the deputy director of the United States Agency for International Development. Cousin has also been a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and has taught courses on international relations and global development.
