Eliezer Ben-Yehuda

Eliezer Ben-Yehuda was an Israeli writer, poet, and politician who played a crucial role in the establishment of modern Hebrew language. Born on February 7, 1858, in Kishinev, Russian Empire (now Moldova), he later moved to Palestine (then under Ottoman rule) and became one of the key figures in the development of the Hebrew language. Before his passing in 1924, Ben-Yehuda co-founded the first Hebrew newspaper, Haaretz, and worked towards making Hebrew a national language.
