Russell Maxwell Nelson is an American medical doctor and religious leader. He is a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served as the president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He is the seventh president of the church, succeeding Thomas S. Monson.
