British author and essayist
Edward Morgan Forster was a British novelist, short story writer, and essayist. He is best known for his novels such as Howards End and A Passage to India. Forster was a prominent figure in the modernist movement in literature and was known for his exploration of social class and morality. He was also a prominent figure in the Bloomsbury Group, a circle of intellectuals and artists. Forster was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1962. He died in 1970 at the age of 91.
