Defense Secretary

The Defense Secretary is a high-ranking official in the United States Department of Defense. The current Defense Secretary is Lloyd Austin, who took office in 2021. Prior to his appointment, Austin served as the Chief of Staff of the US Army and as the Commander of US Central Command.
