David E. Sanger

David E. Sanger is a national security correspondent for The New York Times. He has been covering national security issues for over 20 years, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sanger has written several books on national security, including 'The Perfect Weapon: War, Arms, and the Future of U.S. National Security'. He is a frequent commentator on national security issues and has appeared on numerous television and radio programs. Sanger is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School. He has been a staff writer at The New York Times since 1995.
