Daniel Mannix

Daniel Mannix is an Egyptologist and professor of ancient history at the University of Sydney. He has written extensively on ancient Egyptian culture and has a particular interest in mummification and funerary practices. Mannix is also a seasoned broadcaster and has presented several documentaries on Australian television. In his previous role as a curator at the Powerhouse Museum, he oversaw a number of exhibitions on ancient Egypt. He holds a PhD in ancient history from the University of Melbourne and is currently working on a book about the history of mummification in ancient Egypt. Mannix is also an avid collector of Egyptian antiquities and has a particular interest in the cultural significance of the scarab beetle in ancient Egyptian culture.
