Dadasaheb Phalke was a pioneering Indian filmmaker, actor, and screenwriter. He is best known as the founder of the Indian film industry and is often referred to as the 'father of Indian cinema'. Born in 1870 in Maharashtra, India, Phalke began his career in the film industry in the early 1900s. He directed over 90 films during his lifetime, including the first Indian feature film, 'Raja Harishchandra'. Phalke's work had a significant impact on Indian cinema and he is still celebrated as a national hero in India today.
