Cynthia Miller-Idriss

Cynthia Miller-Idriss is a sociologist and professor at American University. She is the founding director of the Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation Lab (PERIL). Miller-Idriss has written extensively on topics such as extremism, polarization, and social movements. Her book, Man Up: The New Misogyny and the Rise of Violent Extremism, explores the relationship between misogyny and violent extremism. Miller-Idriss has also worked as a consultant and researcher for various organizations, including the US Department of State and the National Institute of Justice.
