Curtis LeMay

Curtis LeMay was a prominent American Air Force general and strategist during World War II. He played a key role in the development of the United States' strategic bombing campaign against Japan. LeMay is also known for his advocacy of nuclear warfare and his role in the development of the first nuclear bombs. He served as the commander of the United States Strategic Air Forces and later became the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force. LeMay was a decorated war hero and received numerous awards for his service, including the Distinguished Service Medal and the Legion of Merit. He passed away in 1990 at the age of 89.
