Count Etienne Davignon was a Belgian diplomat and politician who served as the Belgian ambassador to the Congo from 1959 to 1961. He was involved in the assassination of Patrice Lumumba and was later charged with war crimes related to the event. Davignon was a prominent figure in Belgian politics and was known for his conservative views. He was born in 1928 and passed away in 2022.
