Disability campaigner and marathon runner
Claire Lomas was an inspirational disability campaigner who became paralyzed from the chest down following a horse-riding accident. Despite her disability, she achieved remarkable feats, including completing the London Marathon in a bionic suit. She was also an advocate for disability rights and received an MBE for her services. Tragically, she died five weeks after a microlight plane crash in Jordan, which was officially ruled an accident.
