Christopher de Hamel

Christopher de Hamel is a British manuscript expert and historian. He is a professor of the history of the book at King's College London and has written extensively on the history of manuscripts and books. De Hamel has worked on numerous high-profile projects, including the cataloging of the British Library's medieval manuscripts. He has also written several books on the subject, including "The Book and the Dragon: The History of Manuscripts Illuminated in Medieval China". De Hamel is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and has been awarded a CBE for his services to the history of the book.
