Chevalier Bayard, also known as 'La Passe sans peur et sans reproche' (The Pass without fear and without reproach), was a renowned French knight of the 16th century. He is celebrated for his bravery and honor during the Italian Wars under the reigns of Charles VIII, Louis XII, and François I. Bayard's legendary reputation was cemented during his mission in 1524 to save a retreating French army.
