Charles James Lever

Charles James Lever was an Irish novelist and playwright born in 1832 in Dublin, Ireland. He is best known for his novel 'The Fortunes of Glencore', which was published in 1872. Lever's work often explores themes of love, family, and social class, and he is considered one of the leading figures of the Irish literary revival of the late 19th century. He was a member of the Irish Literary Theatre and was friends with several notable writers of the time, including W.B. Yeats and Lady Gregory. Lever died in 1886 at the age of 54.
