Camillo Golgi was an Italian scientist who discovered the Golgi apparatus in 1898. His work in neuroanatomy earned him a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1906, shared with Santiago Ramón y Cajal, for their discoveries related to the structure of the nervous system.
