Blessed Miguel Pro

Blessed Miguel Pro was a Mexican Catholic priest who was martyred during the Mexican Revolution. He was born in 1891 in Mexico City and studied theology at the National Seminary of Mexico. Pro was ordained as a priest in 1915 and quickly became known for his dedication to his flock and his commitment to social justice. He was arrested and imprisoned by the government multiple times for his activism, but continued to minister to his parishioners despite the danger. Pro was eventually executed by firing squad in 1928. He was beatified by the Catholic Church in 2007 and is currently a candidate for sainthood.
