Bibek Debroy

Bibek Debroy is an Indian economist and academic. He is a professor at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. Debroy has written extensively on economics, politics, and philosophy. He is known for his work on the Mahabharata and has translated several classical Indian texts into English. Debroy has also been a member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council and has advised the government on economic policy. He has also been a visiting professor at several universities around the world. Debroy has received several awards for his work, including the Padma Bhushan, one of India's highest civilian honors. He is also a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and the Indian National Science Academy.
