Bernice Rubens was a Welsh novelist and playwright. She was born in 1928 in Cardiff, Wales, and studied at the University of Wales. She began her writing career in the 1950s and went on to write 17 novels, including one that won the Booker Prize. Her work often explores themes of family, relationships, and social class.
