Bashir Abdi

Somali refugee and marathon runner

Bashir Abdi is a Somali refugee who became a top athlete despite facing numerous challenges. He was born in 1989 in Mogadishu, Somalia, and fled to Belgium as a teenager. He has since become a successful marathon runner and has set the European record in the marathon. He is also the author of the book 'Rennen voor je leven' (Running for Your Life).
