Barzanji, Abdul Rahman

Iraqi politician and Kurdish leader

Abdul Rahman Barzanji is an Iraqi politician and Kurdish leader. He has been a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) since its founding in 1946. Born in 1951 in Sulaimaniyah, Iraq, he studied law at the University of Baghdad. He has served as the speaker of the Kurdistan Region Parliament and has played a key role in Kurdish politics.
