B. R. Ambedkar

Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, commonly known as B. R. Ambedkar, was an Indian jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer. He is best known for his role in drafting the Indian Constitution and his efforts to promote social justice and equality for the Dalit community. Ambedkar was born in 1891 in the state of Maharashtra, India. He studied law at the University of London and later became a professor of law at the University of Bombay. Ambedkar was a key figure in the Indian independence movement and served as the chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constituent Assembly of India. He converted to Buddhism in 1956, along with half a million of his Dalit followers, and founded the Buddhist movement in India. Ambedkar was a prolific writer and published numerous books on law, economics, and social justice. He is remembered as a champion of social justice and equality, and his legacy continues to inspire people around the world.
