Russian novelist and dissident
Andrei Sinyavsky was a Russian novelist, essayist, and human rights activist. He was a prominent figure in the Soviet dissident movement of the 1960s. Born in 1926 in Leningrad, he graduated from Moscow State University and became a professor at the institute for foreign languages. Sinyavsky's works often explored themes of alienation, politics, and identity.
