Alina Lipp

Alina Lipp is a German independent journalist and war correspondent. She is based in Donetsk, Ukraine, and has reported on the conflict in Ukraine for various publications. Lipp has been prosecuted by the German state for violating new speech codes through her reporting in the breakaway Donetsk Republic. She is the only German reporter on the ground in Donetsk and has exposed Ukrainian forces shelling civilians, attacking a maternity ward, mining harbors, and bombing a granary filled with corn for export. Lipp faces three years in prison if she returns to her home country. She is a prominent figure in the international press corps covering the conflict in Ukraine.
